Leadership moves and executive appointments continue to draw significant interest among Business Insurance readers, ranking among the most-read stories through the years.
An appointment that attracted significant attention this year was the May announcement by Marsh McLennan Agency, the small and midsized brokerage unit of Marsh LLC, that Denise Perlman had been promoted to president of national business insurance.
The story on the leadership promotion at MMA was the ninth-most-read risk management-related story on Business Insurance’s website in 2023.
Richmond, Virginia-based Ms. Perlman, who joined MMA from Markel Group Inc. in 2018, was previously executive vice president of business insurance and national partnerships.
Other big news from MMA included its August acquisition of Philadelphia-based brokerage Graham Co., the 63rd-largest brokerage of U.S. business with $73.5 million in 2022 brokerage revenue, according to Business Insurance’s most recent ranking.
MMA said in statement that all 215 Graham employees, including Ken Ewell, president and chief operating officer, and Bill Graham, chairman, would join MMA.
