Tokio Marine HCC said this week it is entering the excess casualty market, and it has hired David Perez, a former Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. executive, to head the business.
Boston-based Mr. Perez will build and launch the new offering by Houston-based TMHCC as president, excess casualty, the Tokio Marine Group unit said.
Previously, Mr. Perez was chief underwriting officer, global risk solutions, at Liberty Mutual.
He will report to Susan Rivera, CEO of TMHCC.
