Lawmakers in Connecticut on Friday presented a bill that would recognize substance use disorder as an occupational illness under the state’s workers compensation law.
Under S.B. 462, only workers suffering occupational-related repetitive strain injuries would be eligible for benefits if they are deemed to have a substance use disorder.
The bill was referred to the Joint Committee on Labor and Public Employees.
