Montana lawmakers are considering a bill that would allow injured workers to choose their own providers for both initial and follow-up care.
S.B. 295, introduced Tuesday, states that the insurer would be able to “verify” the provider selected by the injured worker and that proximity to the worker’s home and the physician’s availability must be taken into consideration.
The bill also states that the physician “may be changed at any time with consent of the worker” and that any objection is subject to mediation.
