After uncertainty regarding the future of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s pending heat standard, the Department of Labor on Wednesday announced that it will host a virtual public hearing on its proposed rule to protect workers from hazardous heat exposure in indoor and outdoor workplaces.
The virtual June 16 public hearing on the Notice of Proposed Rulemaking on Heat Injury and Illness Prevention in Outdoor and Indoor Work Settings will “continue on subsequent weekdays if necessary,” according to the announcement.
The Trump administration in January temporarily paused all rulemaking efforts.
