Nevada adopts popular comp drug formulary

The Nevada Division of Industrial Relations announced it has adopted the Official Disability Guidelines Drug Formulary for prescribing drugs and treatment to injured workers.

State Senate Bill 317, passed earlier this year, mandates the use of the ODG formulary to standardize drug prescription practices, in line with 12 states that use the tool for managing workers compensation claims.

Advocates have said the formulary’s purpose is to promote consistency, improve patient outcomes and reduce costs. It became effective Tuesday, with a full implementation date of July 1, 2027.
