Triple-I names chief insurance officer

The Insurance Information Institute said Wednesday it has named Patrick Schmid chief insurance officer, effective July 11.
He will lead the organization’s Catastrophe Resiliency Council and the Insurance Research Council, reporting to Triple-I CEO Sean Kevelighan.
Mr. Schmid also will continue in his role as president of The Institutes’ RiskStream Collaborative, reporting to Pete Miller, president and CEO of The Institutes.
During his 17-year tenure at The Institutes, Mr. Schmid has been vice president, RiskStream Collaborative; assistant vice president, enterprise research; and director of research at IRC.
He succeeds Dale Porfilio as Triple-I’s chief insurance officer and president of IRC.
