Hamilton snags group chief risk officer from Old Republic

Hamilton Insurance Group on Wednesday named Russ Buckley, formerly with Old Republic Specialty Insurance Underwriters, as group chief risk officer.

He succeeds Alex Baker, who was recently appointed CEO of Hamilton Global Specialty, effective Sept. 1.

Mr. Buckley will join Hamilton’s executive management team, reporting to Pina Albo, CEO. His official start date will be confirmed in the coming weeks.

Mr. Buckley previously was senior vice president and chief actuarial officer of Old Republic Specialty Insurance Underwriters. Before that he was chief actuary in the global specialty division at The Hartford. He previously held leadership positions at American International Group, XL Group and Munich Re.
