Property/casualty insurer Westfield said Wednesday it has named Henning Haagen to the newly created role of chief underwriting officer, effective Sept. 2.
Mr. Haagen will be based in the New York office and “will oversee the development and execution of enterprise underwriting strategy, standards, and governance across Westfield’s global portfolio of personal, commercial, surety, and specialty lines,” Westfield said.
He will report to Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Joe Kohmann.
Mr. Haagen comes to Westfield from being chief development officer and on the board at Hive Underwriters, a London-based managing general agent specializing in aviation insurance. Before that, he had leadership positions in Munich, London and New York with Allianz Commercial.
Westfield, a mutual based in Westfield Center, Ohio, says it has more than $4 billion in revenue.
