Marsh announced Tuesday that it has expanded Nimbus, an insurance facility supporting the construction of large-scale data centers, to U.S. construction projects.
Launched in June, initially covering the UK and Europe, Nimbus is backed by a panel of Lloyd’s and London insurers, and provides up to $1 billion in construction all-risks coverage and up to $365 million in additional cover for delay in start-up.
“Data center construction in the U.S. is experiencing unprecedented growth, driven by the rapid adoption of cloud computing and digital transformation initiatives,” Jim Dunn, Marsh’s head of U.S. construction, said in a statement.
The facility also covers data center projects in Canada, New Zealand and Australia.
