Kaitlin Asrow has been named acting superintendent of the New York State Department of Financial Services, effective Oct. 18.
Ms. Asrow replaces Superintendent Adrienne Harris, who has decided to leave the department, New York Gov. Kathy Hochul announced Monday. The DFS regulates banking and insurance in New York.
Ms. Asrow was most recently executive deputy superintendent, research and innovation division for the DFS. Prior to that she was senior policy adviser at the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco.
Ms. Harris was nominated by Gov. Hochul in 2021 to lead DFS.
