Gen Re names casualty facultative leader

General Re Corp. said Tuesday that Kathy Abel will be promoted to manager, casualty facultative North America, succeeding Christopher J. Brock, who is retiring.

Mr. Brock will retire on April 1 after 37 years with Gen Re, Kara Raigul, president and CEO of the Berkshire Hathaway Inc. unit, said in a LinkedIn post.

Columbus, Ohio-based Ms. Abel currently is chief underwriter for casualty facultative North America.
