Axa XL names head of Americas wholesale business

On Tuesday, Axa XL named Tim Whisler, formerly with Western World Insurance Co., as head of its wholesale business in the Americas.
He reports to Lucy Pilko, CEO Americas, in the newly created role.
Boston-based Mr. Whisler most recently was head of Western World Insurance Co., a subsidiary of Lexington Insurance Co., the surplus lines unit of American International Group Inc.
He will focus on growing Axa XL’s programs and excess and surplus segments, leading the wholesale underwriting unit, the company said in a statement.
“The E&S market has experienced substantial growth and is forecasted to exceed $110 billion in premium by the end of 2024. This growth has significantly outpaced that of the broader market over the past few years,” Ms. Pilko said in the statement.
