Gallagher acquires Texas-based wholesale brokerage, MGA

Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. announced Monday that it has acquired Litchfield Special Risks Inc., an El Paso, Texas-based wholesale brokerage and managing general agency.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Litchfield specializes in transportation and property/casualty coverage for retail agents in Texas and the southwestern U.S. and has about 25 employees. The Litchfield staff will report to Ash Thomas, southwest region vice president for Gallagher’s Risk Placement Services Inc.
