Aon unit buys security sector program manager

Totalis Program Underwriters, a unit of NFP, Aon PLC’s middle-market business, said Wednesday it has bought Brownyard MacLean Security Insurance Services LLC, a program manager specializing in the security and alarm sector.
Terms were not disclosed.
Brownyard MacLean was formed in 2021 as a Bloomfield, Michigan-based managing general underwriter and program administrator focused on coverage for security guards, private detectives and alarm installation and monitoring companies with support from Markel Group Inc.
NFP formed Totalis in 2023 to consolidate its specialty program business.
Matt MacLean, CEO of Brownyard MacLean, and Blair Brownyard, executive vice president, will join Totalis as senior vice presidents reporting to Tom Gillingham, president of Totalis, an NFP statement said. Maureen Tortorici will join as a vice president.
