Aon Q3 D&O report reveals 11.1% drop in coverage costs

Aon Commercial Risk Solutions (U.S.) on Monday said in its quarterly directors and officers liability pricing report that the cost for $1 million in coverage dropped 11.1% compared with the year-earlier period.

The insurer reported it was the ninth quarterly decrease for D&O prices since 2017’s fourth quarter.

Overall, price changes for primary policies renewing with the same limit and deductible were down 6% in the third quarter and the price per million for companies that renewed coverage in the third quarter of 2024 as well as the year-earlier period decreased 7%.

Policyholders did not show many signs of change at renewal with 99% of primary policies being renewed with the same limits, 94% were renewed with the same insurer, 82% with the same deductible and 81% with the same limit and deductible.
