Crum & Forster offers CISO liability policy

Crum & Forster said Monday it has introduced professional liability coverage for chief information security officers.

CISOs are often responsible for securing their organizations’ systems but may not be recognized as corporate officers under a directors and officers liability policy, the insurer said in a statement.

Coverage under the policy includes professional consulting services rendered to an organization and its subsidiaries; other consulting services related to information security and technology systems; and coverage for claims that arise from criminal proceedings, a Crum & Forster statement said.

The policy does not include a deductible for defense costs and limits are available up to $5 million.
