Lancashire names US CEO, CUO, other execs

Lancashire Holdings Ltd. Wednesday named James Flude CEO of Lancashire Insurance U.S. and Huw Jones to the newly created role of chief underwriting officer for Lancashire U.S.

Mr. Flude, currently group chief underwriting officer, insurance, will relocate to the U.S. He joined Lancashire in January 2014, the statement said.

Mr. Jones has been CEO of Lancashire Insurance U.S. since the unit’s launch in March 2024 and was previously Lancashire’s head of specialty insurance.

The changes are part of Lancashire’s continued investment in its U.S. business, group chief underwriting officer Paul Gregory said in the statement.

Lancashire also said Wednesday that Matthew Narbett, currently active underwriter Syndicate 2010, will be named deputy group chief underwriting officer.

Matthew Thomas, now active underwriter Syndicate 3010, will be named active underwriter for both Lancashire Syndicates.

Rachel Sabbarton has been named chief underwriting officer for Lancashire Insurance Company (UK) Ltd., a role Mr. Flude had held for the previous four years.

Lancashire in April launched a U.S. surplus lines business.
