Amwins Group appoints Sloop as next president

Amwins Group Inc. has named Ben Sloop as its next president, succeeding James Drinkwater, effective Jan. 1.

Mr. Sloop will retain his current role as chief operating officer, the Charlotte, North Carolina-based wholesale brokerage said Tuesday in a statement.

Mr. Drinkwater will become vice chair of Amwins and remain executive chairman of Amwins Global Risks. He was appointed president in 2018.

Mr. Sloop joined Amwins in 2005 and has held various leadership roles, including president of Amwins Access.
