Axa XL hires former Zurich professional liability, cyber leader

Axa XL on Monday named former Zurich North America vice president Robert Malone to the newly created position of head of large accounts and portfolio management for its cyber insurance team.

At Zurich, New York-based Mr. Malone was head of middle markets for professional liability and cyber.

Before joining Zurich, he held underwriting roles at Axis Capital Holdings Ltd. and Travelers Cos. Inc. He also worked as a commercial cybersecurity strategy consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton.

He will report to Michelle Chia, chief underwriting officer for cyber, select and design professional at Axa XL, the insurer said in a statement.
