Alera Group appoints president, COO

Alera Group on Monday named Gary Piantedosi president, succeeding Jim Blue, who took the helm as CEO on Jan. 1.

Mr. Piantedosi previously was managing director for the Northeast region.

Kyle Samuel was appointed chief operating officer, replacing William Corrigan.

Mr. Samuel joined Alera last year as executive vice president of national operations. Prior to that, he was chief operating officer of McGriff Insurance Services LLC.

As president, Mr. Piantedosi will oversee Alera’s regional managing directors and national practice leaders and head up strategic initiatives. He was a founder and principal of CBP, one of the founding firms of Alera Group in 2017.

Alera Group is ranked 15th in Business Insurance’s list of the Top 100 brokers of U.S. business.
