Gallagher names former Aon exec to global mining role

Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. on Thursday named Bruce Dettling, former head of mining at Aon PLC, as global head of mining and heavy industry.

He will report to Malcolm Payton, CEO, property & casualty insurance solutions and head of global facultative at Gallagher Specialty in the newly created role.

Mr. Dettling, who is based in London, will join Gallagher Nov. 1.
