AIG hires Marsh’s Walsh as CFO

American International Group Inc. Wednesday said Keith Walsh, chief financial officer of Marsh LLC, will join the insurer Oct. 21 as executive vice president and CFO.
He succeeds Sabra Purtill, who will continue with the company working on strategic projects and as an adviser to Mr. Walsh, AIG said in a statement.
A former equity analyst covering insurance, Mr. Walsh joined Marsh & McLennan Cos. Inc. as head of investor relations in 2012. He was named CFO of the brokerage unit in 2017.
Ms. Purtill was named interim CFO of AIG in January 2023 after Mark Lyons was fired for violating the company’s confidentiality obligations. She was named to the post permanently in June 2023.
Ms. Purtill, who joined AIG from The Hartford Financial Services Group Inc. in 2019, and Mr. Walsh will report to AIG Chairman and CEO Peter Zaffino.
