Axa XL combines Bermuda property/casualty teams

Axa XL, a unit of Axa SA, Thursday said it has combined its property and casualty insurance teams in Bermuda and named Mark Flanagan as head of the team.

Mr. Flanagan, who joined Axa XL in 2012, was previously senior vice president and head of property. Before joining Axa XL, he worked at Jardine Lloyd Thompson PLC and FM.

In the newly created role, his responsibilities include leading the Bermuda property/casualty underwriting team, focusing on growing the property line of business, and developing and managing client relationships across both lines, an Axa XL statement said.

Senior property/casualty staff reporting to Mr. Flanagan include: Rebecca Dupré, senior vice president, head of casualty products; Karen Smith, senior vice president, casualty products; Arketa Tucker, senior vice president, product line leader; and Stephanie Outerbridge, vice president, property underwriting manager.

Mr. Flanagan will report to Noel Pearman, chief underwriting officer, Bermuda, within Axa XL’s insurance business, the statement said.
