Marsh names Thomas-Ferrand to lead captive business

Marsh LLC Friday named London-based Will Thomas-Ferrand as head of its captive insurance business, effective Jan. 1.

He will succeed Ellen Charnley, president of Marsh Captive Solutions, who is retiring at the end of this year.

Mr. Thomas-Ferrand joined Marsh in 2004 and is currently international practice leader, Marsh Captive Solutions. Prior to that he led Marsh’s captive business in Malta.

He will report to Pat Donnelly, president of Marsh Specialty and Global Placement.

“The evolution of the global captive insurance industry continues to gather pace as more organizations turn to captives to address emerging risks such as climate change and cybersecurity,” Mr. Thomas-Ferrand said in a statement.
