USI buys Texas broker

USI Insurance Services LLC said Monday it has acquired Hignojos Insurance Agency.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Odessa, Texas-based Hignojos, founded in 2009, provides commercial coverages including auto, general liability and surety in addition to employee benefits.

Hignojos has seven employees, all of whom will be joining USI, according to an email from a USI spokesman.

USI Regional CEO John Collado said in a statement that the deal expands USI’s  Texas presence.

Valhalla, New York-based USI is the 10th largest broker of U.S. business, according to the most recent Business Insurance rankings.
