CAC Specialty has recruited Matt Movafaghi, a former Chevron Corp. senior tax counsel, to help expand its tax insurance practice, the brokerage announced Tuesday.
San Francisco-based Mr. Movafaghi will be a senior vice president within CAC Specialty’s M&A solutions group, the brokerage said in a statement.
Prior to joining Chevron, he was a tax attorney at Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP.
CAC Specialty has announced a series of appointments since it was formed last year by Birmingham, Alabama-based brokerage Cobbs Allen.
Cobbs Allen is the 80th largest broker of U.S. business, according to Business Insurance’s most recent ranking.
