Markel adds former AIG exec as chief actuarial officer

Markel, the insurance operation of Markel Group Inc., Tuesday named former American International Group Inc. executive Rob Cole as chief actuarial officer.

Mr. Cole will be based at Markel’s headquarters in Richmond, Virginia, and will report to CFO Brian Costanzo, according to an email from a company spokesperson.

Mr. Cole was most recently chief actuary, global pricing, for AIG, according to a Markel statement. He succeeds Ron Herrig, who will be retiring at the end of 2024 after 28 years with Markel.
