Everest creates private equity practice

Everest Insurance, the insurance division of Everest Group Ltd., Thursday said it has established a private equity practice to serve the needs of private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies in North America across property and casualty lines.

Dan Reinert, who most recently oversaw private equity within Everest Specialty Underwriters, has been appointed private equity vertical leader, reporting to Rob Clark, head of Everest Specialty Underwriters.

Everest also named Matt Murray head of private equity distribution. He joined Everest in 2016 as Northeast Region distribution leader and was most recently a risk management client executive, the Everest statement said.

Mike Mulray, president of Everest Insurance North America, said in the statement the new structure “aligns to our trading partners’ preferred way of doing business.”
