MMC names Liston chief commercial officer, US and Canada

Marsh & McLennan Cos. Inc. on Wednesday named David Liston as chief commercial officer, U.S. and Canada.

He succeeds Susan Potter, who was appointed president of the U.S. and Canada region for Mercer LLC, Marsh McLennan’s consulting business, earlier this year.

Mr. Liston, based in New York, previously was U.S. and Canada corporate segment leader at Marsh LLC, Marsh McLennan’s main broking arm.

He will report to Pat Tomlinson, Marsh McLennan U.S. and Canada CEO and president of Mercer, and Hans van Heukelum, Marsh McLennan global chief commercial officer.

Mr. Liston has held various leadership roles since joining Marsh in 1990, including U.S. sales and marketing leader.
