Doccle is the largest digital administration platform in Belgium, serving more than 3.7 million users in collaboration with thousands of companies and organizations across all sectors.
The first live transaction of Wero in the Doccle app was conducted in the presence of representatives of over 50 large companies.
The broad public roll-out of Wero for e-commerce in Belgium is planned for the first half of 2026, after which the payment method will gradually become available to all Doccle users for invoice payment.
At this point, payments via Wero will be initiated not only from the Doccle app, but also directly via a link in an e-mail or by scanning a QR code on a paper invoice, following initial trial runs with Belgium’s KBC and local payments platform Buckaroo.
EPI CEO, Martina Weimert, says: “Invoices represent a major share of Europe’s daily payment flows. Doccle being first to successfully activate Wero for e-commerce in Belgium in a real-life billing environment proves that our technology can offer direct and tangible added value to millions of consumers and businesses. This achievement lays a strong foundation for another use-case in Wero’s expansion across Europe and to become a trusted part of the day-to-day payment system.”
