Markel executive Robert Cox to leave company

Robert Cox, president and chief operating officer, global insurance operations for the Markel Group Inc., will leave the company on Dec. 31, the insurer said Thursday.
The Richmond, Virginia-based insurer said with Mr. Cox’s departure, Simon Wilson, president, Markel International; Alex Martin, president, Markel Specialty; and Bryan Sanders, chairman, Markel Specialty, will report to Markel president Jeremy Noble.
Mr. Cox, a former Chubb Ltd. executive, joined Markel in 2018.
Markel Group Inc. said in October that Mr. Sanders will transition to the role of chairman ahead of his planned retirement next year and Alex Martin, Markel’s chief financial officer, will succeed him.
