Alliant names former Woodruff Sawyer exec to venture capital post

Alliant Insurance Services Inc. Friday named former Woodruff Sawyer & Co. executive Dan Berry as venture capital leader, executive vice president, mergers & acquisitions.

Based in San Francisco, Mr. Berry specializes in the risk management and insurance needs of venture capital and private-equity firms and their portfolio companies, Alliant said in a statement.

He was most recently private-equity and venture capital group leader for Woodruff Sawyer.

Alliant Insurance Services is the eighth largest broker of U.S. business, according to the most recent Business Insurance rankings.
