Liberty Mutual unit hires former Alliant exec for tax post

Liberty Global Transaction Solutions, a unit of Liberty Mutual Insurance Co., said Monday it has hired former Alliant Insurance Services Inc. executive Harry Ballan as head of tax for the Americas.

Mr. Ballan, who is based in New York, replaces Michael Saitta, who left the company earlier this year.

Mr. Ballan previously served as managing director at Alliant where he structured insurance coverage for tax, mergers and acquisitions, and contingent litigation risks for businesses globally.
