Pellegrini named head of Marsh Specialty in US and Canada

Marsh LLC on Wednesday named Michael Pellegrini head of Marsh Specialty in the U.S. and Canada, succeeding Michelle Sartain.

In his new role, San Francisco-based Mr. Pellegrini will oversee Marsh’s aviation; construction; credit specialties; energy and power; financial and professional lines; marine, cargo and logistics; and private equities, mergers and acquisitions businesses within the region.

He will report to Pat Donnelly, who was named president of Marsh Specialty and global placement in July, and will work closely with Ms. Sartain, who was appointed president of U.S. and Canada in July.

Mr. Pellegrini most recently served as North American marine, cargo and logistics practice leader, a role he will maintain until a replacement is identified, Marsh said. He joined the brokerage in 2002 as a risk analyst in Marsh’s training program for college graduates and has held various leadership roles in the marine and cargo sector.
