Gallagher buys brokerage specializing in coverage for expatriates

Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. said Tuesday it has acquired Clements Worldwide, a Washington-based brokerage that specializes in coverage for expatriates and international organizations.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Clements provides products and services for diplomats and military personnel and commercial coverage for nonprofits, contractors, embassies and schools.

The brokerage operates out of London, Dublin, Gibraltar and Dubai, United Arab Emirates, in addition to its Washington headquarters.

Jon Clements, chairman, and some 115 employees will remain in their current locations under the direction of Bumpy Triche, head of Gallagher’s Mid-South retail property/casualty brokerage operations.
