NFP hires from Marsh, buys UK broker

NFP Corp. on Monday named former Marsh LLC executive Meg McSherry to lead its property/casualty business for the Atlantic region.
She replaces Denny Mears who is retiring Nov. 1.
Ms. McSherry will report to Ethan Foxman, president, Atlantic region, and Tim DeSett, executive vice president, P&C, NFP said.
Ms. McSherry, who is based in Charlotte, North Carolina, most recently was U.S. and Canada specialty sales leader at Marsh, where she oversaw sales strategies in financial lines, cyber, aviation, construction, credit specialties, energy and power, marine, cargo and logistics practices.
Meanwhile, NFP said it has acquired Resolute Insurance Services, a brokerage based in Walsall, England.
David Cox will remain as managing director, working with John Paul Allcock, group managing director, NFP in Europe. Resolute has nine employees, all of whom have joined NFP, according to a spokesman.
