Connecticut lawmakers by Thursday morning added two more workers compensation bills that would clear the red tape for mental injury claims, two days after introducing three such bills and less than two years after a law was passed making mental injuries for first responders compensable.
Similar to Tuesday’s H.B. 5560, S.B 665 would amend the law to allow providers of emergency medical services to obtain workers comp benefits for “certain mental or emotional impairments.”
H.B. 5951, introduced Wednesday and also bearing resemblance to the first responder bill from Tuesday, would amend the law to allow emergency medical technicians and Department of Correction employees to receive post-traumatic stress-related workers comp benefits.
