Louisiana approves 4% decrease in comp rates

The Louisiana Insurance Commissioner approved a 4.1% decrease in workers compensation rates in the state, the state’s Department of Insurance announced Wednesday.

Commissioner Jim Donelon approved the annual loss cost filing from the National Council on Compensation Insurance, effective May 1, 2021, which makes seven rate decreases over the past eight years and a cumulative drop of 25% over the past five years.
