The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is proposing changes to handrail and stair-rail system requirements in its walking-working services standard, the agency announced Thursday.
The current standard, which was published in 2016, does not include information about height requirements for handrails and OSHA said it has received questions about when they are required.
Details of the proposed changes were published to the Federal Register. Comments on proposed changes must be submitted to OSHA by July 19.
