Victor Insurance adds former Everest exec

Marsh LLC unit Victor Insurance Holdings Inc., a managing general underwriter, said Wednesday it has named former Everest Reinsurance Co. executive John Tarpey as head of its U.S. reinsurance operations.

Bethesda, Maryland-based Victor said in a statement that Mr. Tarpey, who was most recently an Everest Re vice president, will be responsible for Victor Reinsurance Managers, a Newport, Rhode Island-based managing general underwriter formerly known as Regional Treaty Services Corp. that Victory acquired earlier this year. 

Mr. Tarpey, who is based in Morristown, New Jersey, reports to Victor CEO Brian Hanuschak.

Victor Reinsurance Managers underwrites three reinsurance facilities for small to mid-sized U.S.-based insurers that primarily write personal lines, small agriculture and small commercial business.
