SageSure names John Lummis for capital, risk management role

SageSure Insurance Managers LLC said Tuesday it has hired John Lummis, industry veteran and former senior executive at AQR Re and RenaissanceRe Holdings Ltd., as executive vice president of capital and risk management.

Mr. Lummis currently advises various fintech venture capital and insurance investment firms and has served on SageSure’s advisory board, the Jersey City, New Jersey-based managing general underwriter said. He also serves on the board of Wyoming’s $10 billion public pension fund.

Mr. Lummis previously served as CEO of Bermuda-based AQR Re and prior to that was chief financial officer and chief operating officer of RenaissanceRe for nine years.

In the newly created position, he will be based in Jackson, Wyoming.
