Acrisure, Asta to launch Lloyd’s syndicate

Acrisure Inc. and Asta Managing Agency Ltd. said Wednesday they will launch Flux Syndicate 1985 to offer Lloyd’s products through the broker’s retail distribution systems.

The syndicate, granted “in principle” approval by Lloyd’s, will be managed by Asta and is expected to begin underwriting Jan. 1, 2023.

Flux, which will write internal Acrisure business, is projected to generate gross written premiums of £106.7 million ($123.5 million) in 2023, of which 70% will be new Lloyd’s business, Acrisure said. 

The new syndicate aims to attract new business into the Lloyd’s market that “will accrue not just to Flux but to other syndicates as well,” said Asta CEO Lorraine Harfitt, in a statement.
