Amwins buys real estate wholesale broker

Amwins Group Inc. said Wednesday it has acquired wholesale brokerage Arena Special Risks from Tampa, Florida-based Franklin Street, a commercial real estate company and retail brokerage.

Arena specializes in multifamily, office, industrial and retail real estate risks.

The sale will allow Franklin Street Insurance Services to focus on its core retail insurance brokerage business, said Rob Allen, president of Franklin Street Insurance, in a statement.
