Oaktree adds Phil Joubert as MD and Head of APAC Insurance Solutions

Oaktree Capital Management, L.P. (Oaktree), a global asset management firm specialising in alternative investment strategies, has appointed Phil Joubert as Managing Director (MD) and Head of Asia Pacific (APAC) Insurance Solutions.

In the new role, he will be based in Hong Kong and report to Greg Halagan, Managing Director and Global Head of Insurance Solutions, and develop and lead the APAC insurance client segment.

Joubert brings 25 years of insurance and investment sector experience. Most recently he worked at AIA Group, where he led the implementation of Asset and Liability Management (ALM) and investment solutions for the firm’s insurance entities, and expanded into new asset classes, including high-yield bonds and private credit.

In the past, he has held roles at Oliver Wyman, EY, Natixis, Deutsche Bank, and Deloitte.
