Nexus Underwriting adds SCOR’s Eamonn Long as CUO for Alternative Risk Transfer

Nexus Underwriting, a Brown & Brown group subsidiary, has appointed Eamonn Long as Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO) for its Alternative Risk Transfer (ART) business.

In his new role, Long supports and grows Nexus’s service in ART, translating complex structures into successful transactions, and collaborating closely with capacity providers and producing brokers to design efficient and attractive ART solutions for mutual customers.

Nexus launched its ART business line in December 2024 with Christof Bentele leading the unit as President of Nexus Specialty Casualty, offering multi-year structured re/insurance solutions, focusing on property, liability, and multi-line insurance.

Nexus Specialty Casualty is a division of Nexus Specialty Inc., itself a subsidiary of Nexus Underwriting US, a holding company focusing on niche insurance classes of business and investing in managing general agents (MGAs).

Long has spent nearly 18 years working in several roles across the financial services and insurance sector. Most recently, he was the Head of London Market Solutions at French reinsurer SCOR’s Alternative Solutions unit.

He has held senior positions at major insurers, including seven years at Allianz as its Managing Director in ART, spending time across London and New York.
