ISS Sustainability Solutions acquires Sust Global to expand geospatial risk capabilities

ISS Sustainability Solutions, the sustainable investment division of ISS STOXX, has acquired Sust Global, a provider of geospatial risk modelling and analytics.

The move aims to enhance ISS Sustainability Solutions’ ability to offer institutional clients tools to assess asset-level risks tied to climate and environmental factors.

Sust Global, founded in 2020, uses a proprietary geospatial AI engine to identify patterns and trends across regional datasets.

Its platform delivers physical risk data through products such as visual analytics tools, regulatory reporting modules, data exports, API integrations, and custom-built solutions.

The company’s system aligns multimodal data sources, builds predictive models, and integrates these tools into clients’ existing workflows.

“Institutional investors’ need for geospatial data and enhanced physical risk analytics is growing rapidly and we are pleased to address that demand through this transaction,” commented Till Jung, Head of Sustainability Business at ISS STOXX.

“Sust Global is a highly complementary fit whose platform and AI-powered physical risk models pair well with our proprietary asset level data. Our ability to map them to corporates and investment portfolios will result in highly effective solutions for our institutional clients.”

Sust Global’s analytics are used by financial institutions to evaluate risks tied to specific asset locations and to estimate potential financial consequences. Its data supports risk management, regulatory obligations, due diligence, and investor engagement processes.

“Our team at Sust Global is excited to join with ISS Sustainability Solutions and further its long-standing and important mission to provide investors with cutting-edge solutions to monitor portfolio company risks, including those that are geospatial in nature,” added Josh Gilbert, Sust Global co-founder and CEO.
