Gallagher Re appoints Carl Axel Holtsmark as Head of Life, A&H, Nordics

Gallagher Re, a global reinsurance brokerage and risk advisory firm, has announced the appointment of Carl Axel Holtsmark as Head of Life, Accident & Health for the Nordics.

In his new role, Holtsmark will lead the delivery of innovative reinsurance solutions, ensuring that Gallagher Re’s Nordic clients benefit from the firm’s global expertise and strategic insight.

Holtsmark is a qualified actuary with extensive reinsurance experience. He joins Gallagher Re from Gabler AS, where he spent the past five years, most recently serving as Leader – Non-Life Insurance and Reinsurance Actuary.

Previously, he worked at KPMG Norway as a Senior Associate and actuarial consultant within the Financial Risk Management section, later promoted to Manager.

Holtsmark also served as an actuary at SCOR and held roles at Pre Stack Solutions-GEO AS, Statistics Norway, and KONE.
