MGA Helmsgate secures Lloyd’s Coverholder status, commences underwriting

OneAdvent-managed MGA Helmsgate Limited has secured Lloyd’s Coverholder status and began underwriting in this capacity on 30 September 2025, with support from a Lloyd’s managing agent and Lloyd’s broker United Insurance Brokers Limited (UIBL).

Helmsgate, which specialises in waste and recycling property insurance in Australia, New Zealand, and the UK, noted that coverholder status will allow it to develop within growing markets, explore new territories and establish itself among the leaders in the waste and recycling insurance profession.

Helmsgate’s Underwriting Director, Stuart Kinsella, commented, “Being awarded Lloyd’s Coverholder status adds gravitas to supporting an important sector of the property market, which has been traditionally considered hard to place.

“With our robust underwriting model, we have been granted greater opportunity to provide viable solutions to brokers and insureds in Australia, New Zealand, and the UK.”
