Ramon Zandueta to lead KRM Re Brokers Philippines

KRM Reinsurance Brokers Philippines, a re/insurance broker, has appointed Ramon “Mon” Zandueta as its new Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective September 1st, 2025.

Zandueta is an industry veteran with four decades of experience, known for his long career at Marsh Philippines, where he served as CEO from 2004 until 2021 and later served as Chairman until 2023.

Most recently, he was the President and CEO of OONA Insurance Philippines, overseeing the company’s transformation into a digital-first insurer.

Paolo Picazo, Chairman of KRM, commented on the appointment, “Mon’s track record and vision for the industry bring the right leadership at the right time. With his guidance, we will strengthen our partnerships, innovate in risk solutions, and continue to deliver independent excellence to clients.”

As part of welcoming Mon, KRM hosted Re/Frame: The KRM Regional Forum 2025 on September 19th, at Shangri-La the Fort, Manila. The event, a growth and resilience forum in the Philippines, brought together over 200 leaders from 11 countries, with the Singapore College of Insurance (SCI) serving as the Strategic Knowledge Partner.

The appointment of Mon and the success of Re/Frame align with KRM’s commitment to advancing innovation, strengthening partnerships, and cementing its role as a trusted independent risk advisor in the Philippines and regionally.

The forum featured speakers such as Eddie Ahmed, Founder and CEO, ITI Ventures; Ronak Shah, CEO, QBE Wholesale Markets Asia; Sachin Bhat, Principal Architect, Google; Sylvester Wong, Country Executive, AECOM; and Sunil Yadav, Associate Partner, EY Singapore.

The forum aimed to explore how to reframe challenges as growth opportunities, covering themes from climate change and parametric solutions to artificial intelligence, the rise of electric vehicles, and longevity trends.
